Day and Night Workshop
Rotation of the Earth in a counterclockwise direction causes day and night. When the Earth is tilted the equator is also tilted. The tilt affects amount of light given by Sun, It can create longer days, longer nights, or equal day and nights. Counterclockwise rotation so it rises in the east and sets in the west. Rotation towards the sun and has the sunlight on the surface of the Earth it is day, and when the Earth faces away from the sun and there is no sunlight so it is night. Our Earths rotation is slowly slowing down causing longer days and longer nights. If the earth did not rotate but it revolved around the sun then you would have half the year would have sunlight days and then the other half would have night days, and sunrises and sunsets would still be involved. One complete rotation equals 24 hours which is one day.
